CAD JEWELLERY DESIGN

Precise digital models for rings, necklaces, bracelets and earrings. At Kismet Jewels NYC we perfect stone placement, dimensions and structure in 3D before a single gram of metal is cast, so what you approve is what you receive.

Why CAD Comes First

Computer-aided design (CAD) is the foundation of modern trade jewellery. It lets you see the model in three dimensions, adjust proportions and details with accuracy, and lock in every measurement before we move to 3D prototyping and casting. In our Diamond District studio, partners often review CAD renderings in person or by video; either way, approvals stay in your hands at every gate.

What We Model

We build 3D CAD models for production jewellery, wedding bands, necklaces, bracelets, earrings and limited runs or one-off masters. Each model includes exact dimensions, stone positions, prong or bezel geometry, and metal thickness so the finished unit is strong and balanced. We can work from your sketch, reference images or a brief; our designers translate your idea into a buildable 3D file that our atelier will use for stone setting and finishing.

Stone Placement & Structure

Diamond and gemstone placement is critical for both look and durability. In CAD we define exact seat depths, angles and spacing so every stone is secure and the piece wears well over time. We also model the underlying structure, gallery rails, support under the head, shank thickness, so the ring or piece holds up to daily wear. For NYC clients who want to see how a design will look on the hand, we pair CAD with a physical wax or resin prototype before casting.

How It Fits Into Your Project

CAD design is the second step in our production process: after your trade briefing we create the 3D model and send renderings (and optionally a prototype) for approval. We include one round of design revisions; further changes can be discussed. Once you sign off, the same file drives our 3D printer and casting process, so there’s no loss between screen and metal.

Technical Standards

We use industry-standard CAD software and export formats compatible with high-resolution 3D printing and casting. Our models are built for jewellery-specific requirements: fine detail, correct wall thicknesses and draft angles so wax or resin releases cleanly. Whether you’re commissioning a solitaire or a complex multi-stone piece, the digital foundation is built to last.
